About The Position

The Substitute Teacher maintains a Christ-centered classroom and supports students’ continued learning when the regular teacher is absent. The substitute follows the teacher’s lesson plans, manages classroom behavior, and maintains a safe, orderly, neat, and organized environment. The role is part-time, non-exempt, and temporary, with work not to exceed 115 hours per month. The schedule covers 41 weeks from August through May. The position is based at Rejoice Christian School Central Office in Owasso, Oklahoma, and reports to the Assistant Principal.

Requirements

• Be Christian by profession and lifestyle and a member of a local church in good standing.
• Have at least a high school diploma.
• Have basic knowledge of G Suite and Microsoft Office.
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism.
• Be flexible in availability.
• Be able to move around the classroom, supervise students, lift light classroom materials, and maintain student supervision during transitions.
• Employees may be required to undergo drug and alcohol testing because this is a safety-sensitive position.

Responsibilities

• Keep the classroom neat, organized, and safe for students.
• Take attendance and report concerns about student safety or well-being.
• Supervise students during transitions and ensure their safety.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student, parent, and staff information.
• Participate in emergency drills and report safety concerns to appropriate individuals.
