Part-time Substitute Teacher - Cleveland, TX
About The Position
Kokua Education is hiring part-time substitute teachers in Cleveland and the surrounding Houston area for the 2026–27 school year. Substitute teachers work in K–12 schools, setting their own schedules and accepting assignments for up to five days per week. Daily positions pay $129 per day, and long-term positions pay $144 per day; payment is weekly via W-2. The role may provide a pathway to permanent positions at high-performing schools. Substitute teachers cover classroom assignments and may also support students through tutoring, lunch and recess supervision, hallway monitoring, and testing proctoring. Requirements
- At least one year of experience working with children in any setting, such as a classroom, tutoring, or coaching.
- At least 48 college credit hours completed.
- Confidence managing a classroom of students.
- Willingness to perform support duties where needed, including lunch/recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and testing proctoring.
- Pass state and federal background checks; costs are reimbursed after 10 assignments.
- Include relevant experience working with students on the resume.
Responsibilities
