About The Position

Chesterbrook Academy Preschool is seeking a dependable, flexible on-call substitute teacher to support its schools in Limerick, Collegeville, and Audobon. The substitute works across classrooms serving children from infancy through school age, providing continuity of care and learning when teachers are absent. The schedule varies according to school needs. This role offers experience in early childhood education and the potential to transition into a full-time teaching position.

The substitute steps into classrooms as needed, supports daily routines and instructional activities, and helps maintain a safe, positive, and engaging environment where children feel supported and ready to learn. The role includes working with teaching teams, following established lesson plans and schedules, and building positive relationships with children, families, and staff.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old and meet state licensing requirements.
• Ability to adapt to different age groups, teaching styles, and classroom needs.
• Strong communication skills, reliability, and a warm, caring presence.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with children in a licensed childcare or school setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom instruction and routines for multiple age groups, from infants through school age.
• Encourage independence and collaboration through hands-on, play-based learning.
• Assist with instructional activities, supervision, meals and snacks, and transitions.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom in accordance with school expectations.
• Collaborate with teaching teams and follow established lesson plans and schedules.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members.
• Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, and willingness to help where needed.
