About The Position

LifeWise substitute teachers demonstrate Biblical knowledge and teaching ability while teaching LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis. The role involves using LifeWise-provided curriculum and lesson plans, maintaining a safe and organized classroom, following student discipline policies, keeping attendance records, and communicating with volunteers and the teacher. Substitute teachers are also expected to represent LifeWise Academy in the community and know classroom emergency procedures.

Requirements

• Mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the “What We Believe” section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Active participation in and commitment to a local church whose doctrine aligns with the “What We Believe” section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.

Responsibilities

• Complete substitute teacher training.
• Teach LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis.
• Implement lesson plans using the LifeWise curriculum provided by the teacher.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating classroom in accordance with LifeWise policies and procedures.
• Follow the program’s student discipline policy.
• Take attendance in each class and provide attendance records to the teacher.
• Keep the classroom clean, attractive, and well-ordered.
• Know procedures for emergency situations.
• Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community.
• Communicate lesson plans to volunteers before class and assign duties.
• Communicate with the teacher.
