Part-time Substitute Teacher - Garland, TX
About The Position
Kokua Education is seeking positive role models to serve as substitute teachers in Garland and the surrounding Dallas area for the 2026-27 school year. This part-time role allows you to set your own schedule, earn up to $135 per day, and make a significant impact on students' lives. You will be responsible for sparking a love for learning and fulfilling classroom needs, potentially including lunch/recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and proctoring during testing season. Kokua Education, founded in 2011 by a former teacher, connects talented educators with K-12 schools, building a network of dedicated substitute teachers who serve as role models and contribute to their communities.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience working with children in any setting (classroom, tutoring, coaching, etc.).
- Completed 48+ college credit hours.
- Confident in managing a classroom of students.
- Willingness to step in where needed.
- Ability to pass state & federal background checks.
- Belief that every child has a unique & powerful gift to share with the world.

Responsibilities
- Fulfill classroom needs by covering lesson plans.
