About The Position

Regina Caeli Academy (RCA), a classical homeschool academy in the Catholic tradition, is seeking a part-time Substitute Teacher for 13 hours per week in Jacksonville, FL. This position is on an as-needed basis for the 2026-2027 academic year, filling in when regular staff are unavailable. RCA offers formal Socratic classroom instruction on Mondays and Thursdays. While a teaching certification or formal experience is not required, training will be provided. The role requires a deep love for the Catholic faith, the ability to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church, and a commitment to living the faith daily. Curriculum and grading guidelines will be provided, and tutors receive training in instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards. Center hours are Mondays and Thursdays from 8:45 am to 3:15 pm. Childcare/nursery is provided during working hours. A mandatory training session will be held on August 10 or 11, 2026 (TBD) from 8 am to 5 pm, with no childcare provided (nursing babies are welcome). All staff must complete a background check and RCA Safe Child training prior to employment.

Requirements

• Deep love for the Catholic faith.
• Living the Catholic faith day-to-day.
• Received all sacraments appropriate to one's state in life.
• Availability for mandatory training on August 10 or 11, 2026.
• Must complete a background check.
• Must complete RCA Safe Child training.
