About The Position

Regina Caeli Academy (RCA), a classical homeschool academy in the Catholic tradition, is seeking a part-time Substitute Teacher for its Phoenix, AZ location. This role involves teaching in a classical and Catholic classroom for up to 14 hours per week on an as-needed basis for the 2026-2027 academic year. Substitutes are called when staff are unavailable but can decline shifts. RCA provides instruction in a formal Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays. Childcare/nursery is provided. No formal teaching certification or experience is required, as training will be provided. Curriculum and grading guidelines will be supplied, and tutors are trained in RCA standards for instruction and classroom management. The position is hourly.

Requirements

• Must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church.
• Must have a deep love for the Catholic faith.
• Must be living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received all the sacraments appropriate to his or her state in life.
• Must complete a background check.
• Must complete RCA Safe Child training prior to teaching.
• Must be available to attend one mandatory training day on August 3, 4, or 10, 2026 (TBD) from 8am-5pm.

Responsibilities
