About The Position

Boys Town is hiring an on-call Substitute Teacher in Duncan, Nebraska. The Substitute Teacher delivers instruction and maintains a positive learning environment when the assigned instructor is unavailable. The role supports student growth by implementing established curriculum and lesson plans, adapting instruction to individual needs, supervising students, and communicating with staff and families. The listed starting pay is $180 per full day, increasing to $190 per full day when assigned to the same classroom for 10 consecutive days or longer. The schedule is Monday through Friday during daytime hours.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited school.
• Current Nebraska Teaching Certificate, Nebraska Substitute Teacher Certificate, or Local Substitute Teacher Certificate.
• For assignments in the RTC or select settings, obtain PEM, CPR, and a nationally recognized personal restraint model certification.
• CPR and personal restraint certification are required in select settings.

Nice To Haves

• Background and experience working with learning-disabled and behaviorally impaired learners.
• Special Education endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging instruction and implement lesson plans in accordance with the established curriculum.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet individual student needs.

• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with staff and families.
