Kokua Education is hiring part-time substitute teachers for the 2026–27 school year. Substitute teachers work in K–12 schools, setting their own schedule and choosing assignments, with the option to work up to five days per week and a requirement to work at least two days per week. Daily positions pay $178 per day, while long-term positions pay $195 per day; selected shifts may offer additional pay. Pay is weekly and issued via W-2. The company says applicants can receive an offer within one week of applying and provides support from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, along with free professional development. Teachers may also be considered for permanent roles at high-performing schools. Applicants without a Minnesota substitute teaching or educator license can receive help with the online application process, with out-of-pocket licensing costs reimbursed after they start teaching. Background-check costs are reimbursed after ten assignments.
