About The Position

Kokua Education is hiring part-time substitute teachers in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for the 2026–27 school year. Substitute teachers work in K–12 schools, support students’ learning, and serve as positive role models. They can set their own schedules and work up to five days per week in teaching assignments that interest them. Assignments may include daily positions paying $196 per day or long-term positions paying $216 per day, with weekly paychecks. The role may also involve lunch and recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and test proctoring. Requirements

• Completed bachelor's degree.
• At least six months of experience working with students in any setting, such as a classroom, tutoring, or coaching.
• Confidence managing a classroom of students.
• Willingness to step in where needed, including supervision, tutoring, and test proctoring.
• Pass state and federal background checks; costs are reimbursed after 10 assignments.
• Able to commute to North Philadelphia, where many partner schools are located.
