About The Position

BelovED and Empowerment Academy are growing charter schools seeking teachers committed to the schools’ values and mission, high expectations for every student, and helping students achieve their full potential. Teachers are responsible for student learning progress that meets or exceeds the schools’ standards, developing solutions to problems, and seeking support and resources as needed. Teachers plan and deliver engaging lessons with measurable goals within the schools’ sequenced, standards-aligned education program, and regularly administer school-provided formative assessments. They help maintain a caring, high-expectations school culture through consistent classroom management, preventive discipline, and supervision of students. Teachers collaborate with colleagues and specialists, participate in planning meetings and professional learning communities, and attend professional development. They also work with special education and English language learner staff to implement programs and comply with state and federal regulations. Candidates must hold or plan to pursue the New Jersey Department of Education certification necessary to teach middle school math (CE, CEAS, or Standard certificate). Teachers receive coaching and professional development from school leaders and specialists, as well as curricular materials, assessments, student support services, planning periods, and afterschool program staffing intended to limit teachers’ workdays.

Requirements

Hold or plan to pursue New Jersey Department of Education certification necessary to teach middle school math: CE, CEAS, or Standard certificate.

Participate in a professional learning community and collaborate with grade-level peers.
Work collaboratively with special education and English language learner staff to implement programs and comply with state and federal regulations.
