About The Position

Guidepost Montessori is hiring on-call, as-needed Substitute Teachers to support mixed-age classrooms when full-time teachers are out. The role supports multiple classrooms serving children ages 0–6 and helps maintain a calm, engaging, nurturing learning environment. No formal Montessori training is required; training is provided during orientation and onboarding. Hours and days vary according to school needs, making the role suitable for flexible, part-time, or supplemental work. The position may offer a path to becoming a full-time Assistant Teacher.

Requirements

• Negative TB test within the last 12 months.
• Valid state background check.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Warm, friendly, and dependable demeanor.
• Passion for working with young children.

Nice To Haves

• Early Childhood Education (ECE) units.
• Recent experience working with children ages 0–6.

Responsibilities

• Step into classrooms as needed to support children and maintain consistency.
• Assist with daily routines and classroom activities across mixed-age groups.
• Help create a warm, safe, and engaging environment for children.
