About The Position
The Substitute Teacher III supports the Black Belt Community Foundation's Head Start program by stepping into classrooms as needed to lead engaging lessons, nurture children's curiosity, and provide a safe, supportive learning environment. The role offers a flexible schedule and the opportunity to support children and families in the Black Belt region. Work locations are across Dallas, Choctaw, Marengo, and Wilcox Counties in Alabama.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education.
- At least 2 years of experience working with young children, preferably in a Head Start or preschool setting.
- A caring and patient approach, with strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to teamwork, flexibility, and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote children's growth in all developmental areas.
- Create a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Support children's learning and well-being in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards.
- Build positive relationships with families and help strengthen community connections.
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with program guidelines.
