Montessori Preschool Floater, 12 weeks - 6 years (25 hours/week guaranteed)
About The Position
Discovery is seeking a Substitute Teacher/Campus Floater to support children ages 12 weeks to 6 years in an authentically prepared Montessori environment. The role helps children fulfill their developmental potential and become capable, independent learners. Montessori experience is not required; the organization welcomes educators who appreciate the method and are open to learning more. Training and resources are provided to new staff. The position guarantees 25 hours per week. Discovery is a Montessori community formed through a collaboration between Xplor Education and a Southern California aerospace company. Its community values collaboration, creativity, and attention to detail.
Requirements
- At least 12 college-level early childhood education credits, including at least three credits in infant/toddler care and development.
- Enjoy working with young children.
- Be warm, joyful, and professional.
- Have valid CPR and first aid certification, or be willing to become certified before beginning employment.
- Have negative TB test results from within the last 12 months, or be willing to take a TB test and receive negative results before the first day of employment.
- Be a U.S. citizen or green card holder.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in high-quality preschools, particularly Montessori preschools.
- Speak other languages.
- Interest in creating experiences for young children in art, music, gardening, or science.
