Montessori Preschool Floater, 12 weeks - 6 years (25 hours/week guaranteed)
About The Position
Discovery is seeking a Substitute Teacher/Campus Floater to support children ages 12 weeks to 6 years in an authentically prepared Montessori environment. The role guarantees 25 hours per week. Montessori experience is not required; the organization welcomes educators interested in learning about the method and provides training and resources to new staff members. Discovery is a Montessori community formed through a collaboration between Xplor Education and a leading Southern California aerospace company. The school aims to guide children toward becoming capable and independent learners and values collaboration, creativity, and attention to detail. Xplor Education partners with innovative companies to provide Montessori early childhood education.
Requirements
- At least 12 college-level early childhood education credits, including at least three credits in infant/toddler care and development.
- Enjoy working with young children.
- Be warm, joyful, and professional.
- Have valid CPR and first aid certification, or be willing to obtain certification before beginning employment.
- Have negative TB test results from within the last 12 months, or be willing to take a TB test and receive negative results before the first day of employment.
- Be a US citizen or green card holder.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in high-quality preschools, particularly Montessori preschools.
- Speak other languages.
- Interest in creating experiences for young children in art, music, gardening, or science.
