About The Position

Discovery is seeking full-time Classroom Assistants to support an infant or toddler community serving children ages 6 weeks to 3 years. Under the direction of the Lead Guide, the assistant helps children fulfill their developmental potential in an authentically prepared, inspiring Montessori environment. Montessori experience is not required; the school welcomes educators who appreciate the method and are open to learning more, and provides training and resources to new staff. The position is Monday through Friday, with start times between 8:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. and end times between 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Requirements

• At least 12 college-level early childhood education credits, including at least 3 credits in infant/toddler care and development.
• Enjoy working with young children.
• Be warm, joyful, and professional.
• Hold valid CPR and first aid certification, or be willing to become certified before beginning employment.
• Have negative TB test results within the last 12 months, or be willing to take a TB test and receive negative results before the first day of employment.
• Be a U.S. citizen or green card holder.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in high-quality preschools, particularly authentic Montessori preschools.
• Speak other languages.
• Have interests to share with children, such as music, art, science, gardening, or movement.
• Appreciation for and openness to learning more about the Montessori method.
