About The Position

Cadence Education is seeking a Substitute Montessori Teacher to support its teaching teams and provide high-quality learning experiences in a safe, nurturing Montessori environment. The role works alongside trained Montessori teachers and other faculty, stepping in during absences, breaks, or planning periods. Substitute teachers support infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and Kindergarten students from birth through age 6. The substitute helps maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom; provides active supervision and basic care; and assists with hands-on learning activities that encourage children’s curiosity, independence, and development. The position offers a flexible schedule and requires availability to work as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 19 years old, or 18 if enrolled in college.
Interest in working with young children, from infants through Kindergarten.
Flexible availability to work as needed.
Meet state preschool teacher or assistant requirements.

Nice To Haves

Enthusiasm for the Montessori philosophy; prior Montessori experience is not required.

Responsibilities

Support trained Montessori teachers by assisting in the classroom.
Step in for full-time faculty during absences, breaks, or planning periods.
Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment aligned with Montessori standards.
Provide active supervision and basic care for young children.
Assist with activities that promote curiosity, independence, and joy in learning.
Work with the teaching team to cultivate hands-on learning experiences for children from birth through age 6.
Collaborate with faculty to provide a consistent, high-quality experience for children and families.
