Substitute Early Education Teachers - YMCA of the North Shore
About The Position
The YMCA of the North Shore is hiring a Substitute Teacher to support its licensed Early Learning Centers in Beverly, Gloucester, Salem, Marblehead, and Ipswich. Substitute Teachers step into classrooms as needed to help maintain continuity of care and provide children with a safe, nurturing, and positive learning experience. The role involves working with different classrooms and age groups and adapting activities to support children’s development. Candidates must be willing to travel to all listed locations to qualify for the substitute teacher rate. The position is part-time, with a day shift and a salary range of $22.00–$30.00 per hour. No certification is required, though relevant Massachusetts or New Hampshire early education certification is preferred.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience working in a licensed childcare program.
- Passion for working with children and supporting their development.
- Ability to adapt quickly and step into different classrooms and age groups.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and flexible schedule.
- Reliable transportation.
- Willingness to travel to all listed locations to qualify for the substitute teacher rate.
Nice To Haves
- Certification through the Massachusetts Department of Education and Care in Infant/Toddler or Preschool Education, or through the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services.
