About The Position

The Daily Substitute temporarily fills in for teachers who are absent. The role follows the absent teacher’s lesson plans, manages the classroom, supports students with assignments, and maintains a positive and respectful learning environment. The position is on-call and non-exempt, reports to the Principal, and operates in a professional school environment at Berkeley Preparatory Academy. Occasional local travel for school-related functions may be required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with students in an educational setting.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow lesson plans left by the absent teacher.
• Manage classroom behavior and ensure a productive learning environment.
• Support students in completing assignments.
• Maintain a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere.
• Report concerns or issues to the Principal.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
