About The Position

Union County Community Action, Inc. (UCCA) is seeking part-time, on-demand Substitute Assistant Teachers to support Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms in Monroe, Union County, North Carolina. The role is suited to dependable individuals who enjoy working with young children and can adapt to different classrooms and daily needs. Compensation is up to $101 per day. The stated schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:45 a.m.–3:30 p.m., on demand.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and TB test.
• Must submit to random drug screenings.
• Must be able to actively supervise young children and move throughout classroom environments.
• Must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers with daily activities.
