The role is based in the New York City or San Francisco hub environment, with most roles on those teams working from the office at least two days per week. Compensation includes a competitive base salary, benefits, and equity; the base salary starts at $120,000 annually and varies by candidate background, experience, level, and location.

Requirements

  • Direct experience closing traditional closed-end or drawdown funds, including capital calls, side letters, and multi-close mechanics.
  • Experience in a controls-conscious environment, such as audit, compliance, AML/KYC, or regulated financial services, and comfort building or strengthening control checkpoints in a high-volume process.
  • Strong customer service experience serving GPs, LPs, or institutional clients in private markets or fund administration, including the ability to manage demanding relationships and communicate clearly under time pressure.
  • At least 1 year of team management or leadership experience, with a track record of coaching people and running a high-volume operational queue against SLAs.
  • Working knowledge of venture fund structures, including SPVs, rolling funds, traditional funds, and traditional drawdown or closed-end fund mechanics, as well as relevant subscription, purchase, and side-letter documents.
  • A product mindset and experience turning recurring operational problems into tooling or process changes.
  • Strong interpersonal judgment and systems-analytic skills, including the ability to manage external relationships and write precise tooling requirements.
  • Experience in a rapidly scaling fintech or fund services environment, or the disposition to thrive amid rapid change.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the S&C team by setting priorities, planning coverage and workloads, coaching and developing team members, and maintaining clear SLAs for setup accuracy and closing turnaround.
  • Own the quality of fund and SPV setup, subscription review, proration, and closing confirmation, and serve as the final escalation point for stuck, incorrect, or potentially risky matters.
  • Serve as the direct S&C contact for GPs and institutional customers, provide a high-quality client experience, and translate customer needs into product requirements and repeatable processes.
  • Own and build playbooks and execution processes for institutional and traditional fund closings, including drawdown and capital-call administration, side-letter tracking, multi-close administration, parallel funds, and complex allocations.
  • Own control checkpoints in the setup-to-close workflow, including KYC/AML and sanctions screening, segregation of review and approval duties, and audit-supporting documentation.
  • Drive root-cause remediation when exceptions occur.
  • Identify, specify, test, and ship product and process improvements with Product and Engineering, including improvements to proration, setup tooling, and closing workflows.
  • Document process changes for the S&C team and adjacent teams.
  • Contribute to the GP Services product roadmap by surfacing recurring client pain points and quantifying the operational cost of tooling gaps.
  • Collaborate with Global Portfolio, Fund Services, Tax, and Compliance on cross-functional matters related to subscriptions and closings.
