About The Position

The Subject Matter Expert (SME) assists in leading a group of production-area employees. This exempt, onsite supervisory role emphasizes safety and compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations. The SME develops employees, fosters a climate of trust and cooperation, communicates information openly, and works with supervisors and management to coordinate company resources in line with established policies, procedures, and plant priorities.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of materials, methods, terminology, equipment, and tools used in the maintenance and repair of manufacturing structures and systems.
Previous work experience managing people and maintenance activities.
Ability to lead and supervise a team.

Responsibilities

Assist employees when they need help.
Manage the shift and troubleshoot process and mechanical problems.
Work closely with the Department Superintendent.
Complete paperwork in a timely manner.
Conduct department audits and employee safety audits.
Give daily toolbox safety meetings.
Supervise hourly employees.
Order supplies.
