About The Position

This posting is for teachers with recall status and external applicants who are qualified for the position. The Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE) is part of the public education system in Nova Scotia, established on April 1, 2018. SRCE focuses on supporting student learning, achievement, well-being, and overall success. With approximately 1,166 employees, SRCE's mission is to empower children and youth in safe, equitable, and inclusive environments to become lifelong learners. In 2024-2025, SRCE operates 20 schools with approximately 5,948 students and 375 children in pre-primary programs across 14 locations. Located in northeastern Nova Scotia, SRCE's jurisdiction covers Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness, and Richmond counties. Hired or recalled teachers will be required to participate in New Teacher training if they have not already done so.

Requirements

Valid teacher certification for the Province of Nova Scotia.
Methodology courses, experience, or practicum teaching in the subject area(s) at the appropriate level for the competition.
Excellent classroom and student management skills.
Knowledge and experience in the application of technologies used to enhance instruction and learning.
Knowledge and/or experience in implementing inclusive teaching and assessment strategies.
Knowledge of inter-disciplinary planning is a requirement.
Application must include at least three (3) work-related references, one must be your most recent supervisor.
All employees must provide a current (within the last 6 months), and clear Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry prior to employment.
