About The Position
This posting is for a Term Grade P-1 Integrated LA & Integrated Math teaching position at Whycocomagh Education Centre. Teachers with recall status and external applicants who are qualified are encouraged to apply. The Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE) is part of Nova Scotia's public education system, established to support student learning, achievement, well-being, and overall success. The SRCE operates 20 schools with approximately 5,948 students and serves about 375 children in pre-primary programs across 14 locations. The jurisdiction covers Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness, and Richmond counties. New teachers hired or recalled into new positions will be required to participate in New Teacher training if they haven't already.
Requirements
- Valid teacher certification for the Province of Nova Scotia.
- Methodology courses, experience, or practicum teaching in the subject area(s) at the appropriate level for the competition.
- Excellent classroom and student management skills.
- Knowledge and experience in the application of technologies used to enhance instruction and learning.
- Knowledge and/or experience in implementing inclusive teaching and assessment strategies.
- Knowledge of inter-disciplinary planning.
- Application must include at least three (3) work-related references, one must be your most recent supervisor.
- Provide a current (within the last 6 months), and clear Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry prior to employment.
Responsibilities
