About The Position

This is a 50% Term Early Literacy Intervention Teacher position at Tamarac Education Centre. The Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE) is part of the public education system in Nova Scotia, established on April 1, 2018. The SRCE focuses on supporting student learning, achievement, well-being, and overall success. With approximately 1,166 employees, the SRCE operates 20 schools and 375 pre-primary programs, serving about 5,948 students. The jurisdiction covers Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness, and Richmond counties in northeastern Nova Scotia. Teachers hired or recalled into new positions may be required to participate in New Teacher training if they have not already done so.

Requirements

Valid teacher certification for the Province of Nova Scotia
Methodology courses, experience, or practicum teaching in the subject area(s) at the appropriate level for the competition
Excellent classroom and student management skills
Knowledge and experience in the application of technologies used to enhance instruction and learning
Knowledge and/or experience in implementing inclusive teaching and assessment strategies
Knowledge of inter-disciplinary planning
Background/Training/Experience in Early Literacy
Provide at least three (3) work-related references, one must be your most recent supervisor.
Provide a current (within the last 6 months), and clear Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry prior to employment.
