About The Position

Under direct supervision of the Sub Shop Foreman and the Shop Supervisor, the Sub Shop Hand ensures incoming subs are washed, redressed, torqued, and tested before returning to the field. The role also helps prepare orders for shipment, maintain shop equipment and work areas, and assist other employees with shop tasks. The position requires flexibility to work schedules based on business needs, including weekends, and participate in an on-call rotation.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of experience.
Basic knowledge of hand tools.
Basic knowledge of power tools.
Basic mechanical skills.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand, bend, stoop, twist, squat, crawl, and walk; may need to stand or sit for extended periods.
Ability to work outdoors and in extreme weather conditions.
Flexibility to work any schedule based on business needs, including weekends, and participate in an on-call rotation.
Must pass pre-employment screening, testing, and job-relevant hiring requirements.

Responsibilities

Load and unload subs from wash tables.
Power wash subs.
Thread test subs.
Begin the redressing process.
Brush faces, inside ports, O-rings, insert feed through, and retainer nut.
Torque and test subs and verify they are ready to go out.
Prepare and wrap orders for dispatch the following day.
Install and maintain equipment by painting, repairing, cleaning, and testing it.
Operate forklifts, pressure washers, test pumps, and other shop equipment as required.
Assist with loading and unloading supplies and equipment.
Assist with cleaning the shop area and yard.
Know, understand, and observe company safety policies and best practices.
Recognize and manage hazards and demonstrate safe work habits.
Offer support and assistance to other employees in the shop.
Perform other duties as assigned.
