About The Position

Central Power Systems & Services is seeking a Shop Hand to support its mission of providing first-class customer support and building long-lasting partnerships. The Shop Hand supports technicians and keeps the shop clean and organized as directed by the Service Foreman. The role is based in Midland, Texas, and is full-time, with a listed pay range of $18.00–$22.00 per hour. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment eligibility is verified at hire. Offers are contingent on successfully completing a background check and drug screen, including THC. CPS&S is a smoke-free and drug-free work environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid license and clean driving record.
Good working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functions.
Familiarity with basic hand and power tools.
Basic mechanical skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Commitment to maintaining an orderly and safe working environment.
Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Successfully complete a background check and drug screen, including THC.

Nice To Haves

Technical school certificate in a related field, such as Automotive/Diesel Technology or Welding/Fabrication.
Some experience in an automotive or diesel shop environment.

Responsibilities

Sweep floors, clean workstations, and keep the workspace free of hazards.
Load, unload, and safely move heavy equipment, supplies, and parts.
Organize tools, track supplies, and restock items.
Assist technicians by cleaning parts, retrieving hand or power tools, and preparing work areas.
Perform routine maintenance on facility equipment or assist with minor mechanical troubleshooting under supervision.
Perform other responsibilities as designated by and at the discretion of management.
