About The Position
The Academic Resource Center is seeking dependable student workers to fill the Peer Tutor position. Peer Tutors work one-on-one with students, lead study sessions, attend monthly training in-services for tutoring skills development, work on projects and resources to help students, and help with day-to-day operations of the Academic Resource Center. Tutoring experience is not required because we provide a strong orientation and ongoing training.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled as a student at Friends University
- Academically strong in one, preferably several, subject areas such as writing, math, science (chemistry, biology, zoo science, etc.), engineering, accounting, finance, music theory, computer science, religion, and Spanish
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly
- Desire to help others grow in understanding of course content and academic skills
Responsibilities
