About The Position

Lincoln Tech is seeking an onsite Student Retention Coach at its Iselin, New Jersey campus. The coach works directly with students to identify and remove obstacles that interfere with class attendance and successful program completion. The role focuses on supporting at-risk students through early intervention, individualized success planning, academic guidance, and retention strategies. The coach also tracks student outcomes and collaborates with the Academic Dean to address trends and improve retention.

Requirements

An associate's degree or two years of related experience.
Experience in student services, counseling, or a related field.
Knowledge of student development and retention best practices.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to build rapport with diverse student populations.
Problem-solving and crisis intervention skills.
An empathetic and patient approach to student support.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement retention strategies for at-risk students.
Provide early intervention support and conduct regular check-ins to identify potential barriers.
Create individualized success plans for struggling students.
Advise students considering withdrawal and coordinate re-entry for returning students.
Provide academic advising and coordinate tutoring services and learning assistance.
Use academic reports to manage attendance, drops, failures, and persistence data.
Identify trends and work with the Academic Dean to develop improvement plans.
Maintain detailed records of student interactions and prepare reports on retention outcomes.
