About The Position

This position functions as a Student Research Assistant in a research laboratory within the Department of Microbial Infection and Immunity. The assistant will support the research activities of the principal investigator and assist research staff with basic research procedures and experiments under direct supervision. Responsibilities include preparing reagents and solutions, performing laboratory maintenance and general housekeeping, cleaning glassware and autoclaving instruments, maintaining inventory of research supplies, running errands, and participating in laboratory meetings and department activities. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Student must be enrolled in a degree granting program at OSU
• One year of college coursework or equivalent is desired

Responsibilities

• Assist and support research activities of principal investigator
• Assist research staff with basic research procedures and experiments under direct supervision
• Prepare reagents and solutions for use in experiments
• Perform laboratory maintenance and general housekeeping tasks
• Clean glassware and waterbaths and autoclave research instruments
• Maintain inventory of research supplies
• Run errands
• Participate in laboratory meetings and Department activities
• Other duties as assigned
