About The Position

The research project is centered on the metabolic reprogramming that regulates tumor-infiltrating myeloid cells and their interplay with T cells in mouse model and in humans. The Post Doctoral Researcher will pursue specialized research training and experience under the guidance of a scientific mentor; conducts research to characterize the immunologic and genetic basis of human cancers; develops, adopts and implements new experimental methods to achieve further characterization of various human immune cell types, their respective developmental pathways; delineates mechanisms of tumor resistance to immunotherapy, such as immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI), identifies novel genes and examines their role in the development of immunologic approaches to disease treatment; analyzes changes in mRNA or protein expression, flow cytometric analysis, gene cloning and mutation detection; integrate cutting edge single-cell RNA sequencing and multi-parametric flow cytometry with traditional molecular biology based approaches; participates in analyzing data for reports for the purpose of grants submissions; designs and conducts pre-clinical studies using a variety of disease models in mice; trains staff, focuses efforts to generate a better understanding of resistance to ICI, to conceive and develop novel treatments/combinations and biomarkers, identify new targets for novel therapeutics, use multi-color flow cytometry, cell isolation and primary cell and tissue culture.
