About The Position

This position is for a Student Part-Time Professor for the Fall 2026 academic period, teaching EAS1101-D00: INTRO.TO INDIGENOUS STUDIES. The course focuses on the history and contemporary conditions of Indigenous peoples in Canada and around the world, providing a basis for more advanced study. Requirements

  • Graduate level background in Indigenous Studies and/or cognate field (law/legal studies, history, political studies, indigenous studies).
  • Must be a Student Part-Time Professor.
  • Ability to teach in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous teaching experience in the discipline.
  • Lived experience in Indigenous communities (or work experience with Indigenous organizations).

Responsibilities

  • Teach EAS1101-D00: INTRO.TO INDIGENOUS STUDIES
  • Provide instruction focusing on the history and contemporary conditions of Indigenous peoples in Canada and around the world.
  • Facilitate a learning environment that supports advanced study in Indigenous Studies.
  • Complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
