About The Position

This is a part-time professor position for the SEG3502 course, "Architecture et conception de logiciels" (Software Architecture and Design), during the 2026 Fall Semester. The course provides an in-depth look at software design, continuing the study of design patterns, development frameworks, and architectures. It includes an overview of contemporary middleware architectures, designing distributed systems using middleware, and designing for external qualities such as performance, safety, security, reusability, and reliability. The course also covers measuring internal qualities and software complexity, evaluating and evolving designs, and notions of re-engineering and reverse engineering. The teaching method will be delivered in person.

Requirements

• Excellent knowledge of course subject matter, demonstrated by having taught similar or related courses, or demonstrated by relevant work experience.
• Must be licensed as a Professional Engineer.
• Regular applicants must have a doctorate in a field related to the course, or relevant work experience in a field related to the course after obtaining their Ph.D.
• Include P.Eng. License number and province of registration when applying.
• Competence in a second language (passive).

Responsibilities

• Teach the SEG3502 course, "Architecture et conception de logiciels".
• Attend tutorials at least one hour per week on average.
• Complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.

• Payment for 52 hours (instead of 39 hours) for attending tutorials.
• Vacation pay and statutory pay are not included in the hourly rate.
