About The Position

In this course, we outline the unique characteristics of complex projects and programmes and their initiation and planning. Students will learn tools to characterize the complexity of projects and programmes. Advanced methodologies for strategic analysis and stakeholder engagement for complex projects and programs will be presented. Approaches to develop adaptive and agile project plans for benefits realization will be shared, along with the enabling organizational governance models, and the capabilities required to lead teams of teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering required.
  • Solid industry track record in professional and managerial role(s) related to the management of complex projects as well as technology project initiation, development and management required.
  • Successfully complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's in management or engineering preferred.
  • PhD an asset.
  • Experience as CTO and/or CIO or higher-ranking role in engineering management in a technical/technological firm is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in post-secondary teaching and/or professional development instruction preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Initiation and Design of Complex Projects and Programs (MEM6100, Section B) during the 2026 Fall Semester.
  • Outline unique characteristics of complex projects and programmes and their initiation and planning.
  • Teach students tools to characterize the complexity of projects and programmes.
  • Present advanced methodologies for strategic analysis and stakeholder engagement for complex projects and programs.
  • Share approaches to develop adaptive and agile project plans for benefits realization.
  • Discuss enabling organizational governance models and the capabilities required to lead teams of teams.
