About The Position

This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach ESL2121 - Creating Meaning: Reading to Improve Writing Skills during the Fall 2026 semester at the Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute (OLBI) within the Faculty of Arts. The course focuses on expanding reading and writing skills for general and academic purposes, using various text types as a basis for effective writing. It involves developing reading and writing strategies, critical reading skills, refining sentence structures, and enriching vocabulary. The course is scheduled to be taught in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 17:30 to 19:00.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in teaching English as a second language, or a discipline relevant to English as a second language teaching.
  • Two years of experience teaching ESL at the university level, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with software and technologies relevant to teach English as a second language.
  • A professor who has taught an FLS / ESL course at OLBI before January 1, 2018 is considered to meet the diploma requirement.
