About The Position

This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach Introduction to Product Development and Management for Engineers and Computer Scientists (GNG2101, Section D) during the Fall 2026 academic period. The course is a hands-on, team-based introduction to product development and management principles, covering topics such as creativity, innovation, product development process, engineering project management, market evaluation, engineering economics, and technology entrepreneurship. The language of instruction is English, with an active competence in a second language required. The expected enrollment is 70 students, and the course is worth 3 credits. The position is limited to Regular Part-Time Professors.

Requirements

  • Must be a Regular Part-Time Professor.
  • Excellent knowledge of Engineering design, demonstrated by having taught similar courses or by relevant work experience specifically in design.
  • Must be licensed as a Professional Engineer.
  • Active competence in a second language.
  • Successful completion of all mandatory legislated training.

  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Introduction to Product Development and Management for Engineers and Computer Scientists (GNG2101, Section D).
  • Cover topics including creativity and innovation, product development process, engineering project management, market evaluation and identification, engineering economics, and technology entrepreneurship.
  • Facilitate a hands-on, team-based learning environment.
  • Engage with students on the social and economic aspects of engineering practice related to product development and management.
  • Complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
