About The Position

This posting is for a Student Part-Time Professor position for POL2107 - Introduction to Political Thoughts, Section A00, during the 2026 Fall Semester at the University of Ottawa. The course focuses on the origins and development of political thought, examining principal themes in ancient and medieval political thought with a potential emphasis on Greek, Roman, and/or non-Western thought, and brief discussion of modernity. The course is intended for PhD students and will be offered in person. Requirements

Ph.D. or Ph.D. coursework in the field of political thought.
Teaching experience in the field.
Must be a PhD student.
Successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.

Responsibilities

Teach Introduction to Political Thoughts (POL2107, Section A00) during the 2026 Fall Semester.
Deliver the course in person, with potential modifications due to public health measures.
Demonstrate knowledge of the topic of the course.
