About The Position

This course introduces students to Earth’s atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere, and biosphere. It covers the global energy balance and climate change, water and its global impact, and mass wasting and natural disasters such as landslides and flooding. Topics are examined on both global and local scales. The objective is for students to gain a deeper understanding of the environmental processes that drive climate change and shape our world.

Requirements

  • M.A. or M.Sc. in geography, environmental studies, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the subject matter.
  • Experience teaching large introductory classes.
  • An acceptable level of education/experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational requirement and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach The Physical Environment (GEG1301-A00) during the Fall 2026 semester.
  • Deliver lectures and potentially lead labs.
  • Engage with students to foster understanding of environmental processes.
  • Complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
