About The Position

This course will examine how the formal and stylistic aspects of literature have shaped conversations in literary studies. Topics may include the interrelation of form and social movements; experimental writing; constraint and creative games; avant-garde traditions; problems of genre; form and popular culture; the rise of the novel; definitions of “the literary”; and style and identity.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in English
  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
  • Competence in English (language of instruction).

  • Research expertise and publications in the area of Critical Conversations: Form and Style.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Critical Conversations: Form and Style (ENG2184 Section A00)
  • Conduct classes on Tuesdays from 13:00-14:30 and Thursdays from 11:30-13:00 (schedule subject to change).
  • Complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
  • Adhere to the hiring process governed by the current APTPUO collective agreements.
