About The Position

This position is for a Student Part-Time Professor to teach the World Languages in Contact course (LCM3102, Section A) during the Fall 2026 semester. The course explores global linguistic diversity and hybridity, applying sociolinguistic approaches to topics such as language relations, minority languages, languages in media and popular culture, language histories, dialects, language politics, and intercultural translation. The course will be offered in person.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in a field of world languages and literatures, or equivalent.
  • University experience required.
  • Expertise in teaching of languages, literatures, cinemas, and other cultural expressions from different regions of the world.
  • Expertise in linguistic diversity and policies, minority languages, languages in the media and popular culture, and intercultural translation.
  • Bilingual (English and French).

  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
