About The Position

The University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor for the Food Proteins course (NUT3132 Section A) during the Fall 2026 semester. This course focuses on the physicochemical properties of food proteins, their occurrence, nature, role in formulation, processing, safety, and nutrition, as well as advances in functional food proteins. The position is for an in-person lecture-based course with a maximum enrollment of 30 students.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Food Sciences or its equivalent.
  • Experience in the field of the course.
  • If the degree is in an equivalent field, the candidate must clearly explain in their résumé how their academic background connects to Food Sciences.
  • Successful completion of all mandatory legislated training as may be modified by provincial law.

Nice To Haves

  • University teaching experience is an asset.
  • Competence in a second language (Passive).

Responsibilities

  • Teach the Food Proteins course (NUT3132 Section A).
  • Deliver lectures covering physicochemical properties of food proteins, their occurrence, nature, role in formulation, processing, safety, and nutrition, and advances in functional food proteins.
  • Develop and administer written assignments or examinations that are not computer-marked.
  • Potentially fulfill other duties as outlined in the APTPUO collective agreements.
