About The Position

The Faculty of Health Sciences, School of Nutrition Sciences is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach NUT2333 (Nutritional Biochemistry) for the Fall 2026 semester. This course explores the link between biochemical processes and nutrition, focusing on fundamental nutritional biochemistry in cell function and metabolism. Topics include the structure and function of proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, vitamins, minerals, and nucleic acids, as well as basic enzyme kinetics and intermediate metabolism. The course component is a lecture, and the instruction mode is in-person on the Lees campus.

Requirements

  • Master degree in Nutrition or Nutritional Biochemistry.
  • Competence in the second language (French) is passive.
  • Ability to teach in English.

  • University teaching experience is an asset.
  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach NUT2333 (Nutritional Biochemistry) course.
  • Deliver lectures covering the link between biochemical processes and nutrition.
  • Explain the main processes of fundamental nutritional biochemistry involved in cell functioning and their roles in different metabolisms.
  • Cover the structure of proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, vitamins, and minerals.
  • Discuss the structure and functions of nucleic acids (DNA and RNA).
  • Introduce basic concepts in enzyme kinetics and intermediate metabolism.
  • Provide instruction in English.
  • Conduct assessments including written assignments or examinations that are not computer-marked.
