About The Position

The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Student Part-Time Professor to teach Research Workshop in Digital Transf. and Innovation (DTI7101, Section A) during the 2027 Winter Semester. This course focuses on writing a Research Project proposal, including problem formulation and work plan. It also covers essentials of graduate report writing, information management, literature search techniques, reference management, and research ethics, including academic integrity and avoiding academic fraud. The course is taught in English and is scheduled for Thursdays from 14:30 to 17:30, running from January to February.

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of the course subject matter, demonstrated by relevant research publications or extensive experience over at least two years, or having taught related graduate courses previously.
  • Presently completing their PhD in a field related to the course subject matter, OR have worked professionally in the field after completing a relevant doctorate.
  • Competence in a second language (passive).

Responsibilities

  • Teach Research Workshop in Digital Transf. and Innovation (DTI7101, Section A).
  • Cover topics including writing a Research Project proposal, problem formulation, work plan, graduate report writing, information management, literature search techniques, reference management, and research ethics.
  • Ensure academic integrity and avoidance of academic fraud.
