About The Position

This position is for a Part-Time Professor to teach Statistics for Management (ADM2303 Section F) during the Fall 2026 semester at the Telfer School of Management. The course introduces the use of statistical methods and tools in business, including data exploration, descriptive statistics, probability distributions, and statistical process control. Hands-on experience with Excel and/or Minitab is expected. The teaching mode will be in-person.

Requirements

  • Master's degree (PhD preferred) in statistics or a field of study where statistics for management were applied extensively.
  • Demonstrate recent professional experience directly related to the use of statistics for management.
  • Must have a Master's degree (PhD preferred) in statistics or in a field of study where statistics for management were applied extensively.
  • Must also demonstrate recent professional experience directly related to the use of statistics for management.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Statistics for Management (ADM2303 Section F).
  • Introduce the use of statistical methods and tools in business.
  • Cover data exploration, descriptive statistics (graphical representation, measures of central tendency and dispersion).
  • Explain applications of random variables and their probability distributions in business.
  • Cover useful probability distributions in management (binomial, Poisson, normal, exponential, uniform).
  • Introduce statistical process control and quality improvement.
  • Provide hands-on experience with Excel and/or Minitab.
