About The Position

This position is for a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach Statistics for Management (ADM2303C) during the Fall 2026 semester at the Telfer School of Management. The course introduces the use of statistical methods and tools in business, including data exploration, descriptive statistics, probability distributions, and statistical process control. Hands-on experience with Excel and/or Minitab is included. The teaching mode will be online synchronous live, though this may change due to health measures or other reasons. Requirements

  • Master's degree (PhD preferred) in statistics or a related field with extensive application of statistics for management.
  • Demonstrate recent professional experience directly related to the use of statistics for management.
  • Competence in a second language (Passive).

Responsibilities

  • Teach Statistics for Management (ADM2303C) during the Fall 2026 semester.
  • Introduce the use of statistical methods and tools in business.
  • Cover data exploration, descriptive statistics (graphical representation, measures of central tendency and dispersion).
  • Explain applications of random variables and their probability distributions in business.
  • Cover useful probability distributions in management (binomial, Poisson, normal, exponential, uniform).
  • Introduce statistical process control and quality improvement.
  • Provide hands-on experience with Excel and/or Minitab.
  • Deliver instruction online (synchronous live).
