About The Position

Looking for a flexible on-campus job that builds real-world experience in healthcare, research, and program operations? The UNM Center for Occupational & Environmental Health Promotions within the Department of Internal Medicine is seeking a self-motivated, professional, and reliable Work-Study or Student Employee to support multiple dynamic programs, including: RESEP, UNM HEaRT, Preventive Medicine Residency (PMR), and Employee Occupational Health Services (EOHS) Clinic. This is a great opportunity for students interested in healthcare, public health, administration, or research to gain hands-on experience in a professional setting. This position will start during the Spring 2026 semester and has the opportunity to continue into the 2026 – 2027 academic year. Work-study is highly preferred but not required for consideration. Applicants must be able to work in the office on North Campus during regular business hours of M-F between 8-5pm. Schedule is flexible around classes.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous strong office / customer service experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Must possess basic office experience including Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, and Powerpoint), Adobe Acrobat, and use of copiers/fax
  • Reliable, organized, detail-oriented, with superb time management skills
  • General Knowledge of UNM HSC & Main campus buildings

Responsibilities

  • Greets and assists faculty, staff, residents, visitors, etc. providing a welcoming front office experience
  • Answers phones and emails, directs inquiries, and provides general information
  • Sorts and distributes incoming mail and department communications
  • Supports resident physicians with portfolio organization and tracking
  • Assists with data entry and basic research tasks (e.g., REDCap, Cerner, PowerChart)
  • Helps manage the PMR Library (check-in/check-out of materials)
  • Assists with the UNM HEaRT Program (supply ordering, and distribution)
  • Assists with scheduling meetings, classes, and or conference room reservations
  • Provides general office and administrative support as needed
  • May run various campus errands
  • Performs other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
