Sanford Health is offering a hands-on, paid nursing internship in the Med Surg/ICU department. Interns experience the day-to-day work of a Registered Nurse across clinical roles and settings, developing confidence and competence in clinical skills with guidance from an experienced nurse preceptor. The program helps nursing students identify an area of practice that fits their career goals, talents, and interests, and supports a smooth transition into a licensed role after graduation. The intern provides direct and indirect patient care and supports department activities. The role involves caring for patients through preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up as they move between care settings. Interns learn to communicate with and support patients while working a real schedule, and follow population-specific protocols and policies addressing patients’ physical and psychological needs across all ages. The intern works within applicable state regulations and Sanford Health’s vision and values. This opportunity is for nursing students expecting to graduate in Fall/Winter 2027 or Spring/Summer 2028. The position is in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, with a variable shift and 36 scheduled weekly hours. Starting rate is $20.00 per hour.
