About The Position
The Student Media Webmaster is responsible for updating and maintaining the department’s official website (www.sxustudentmedia.com) and overseeing the department’s social media presence. This role supports the development of key career readiness competencies, including Communication, Critical Thinking, Professionalism, and Technology. Students in this role will practice clear communication, problem-solving, dependability, and efficient use of digital tools.
Requirements
- MUST BE A STUDENT AT SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY
- Must be Federal Work Study Eligible
- Must Include a Resume and Cover Letter
- Has experience utilizing WordPress for updating web content
- Has general HTML coding knowledge and experience
Nice To Haves
- Background in Computer Science preferred
Responsibilities
- Maintaining the Department’s official website
- Conducting website upgrades when necessary
- Uploading the official PDFs of The Xavierite
- Updating the website on a regular basis with new content
- Assuring that no copyright laws are broken in the use of downloaded images, text, photos, videos, graphics, and other published materials to the website
- Monitoring the site for content
- Attending general staff meetings
- Being a member of the Student Media Leadership Committee
- Overseeing the department’s social media presence and developing a strategy
- Maintaining weekly posted office hours (5 hours per week)
