About The Position

This recruitment will be used to fill eight part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Student Landscape Maintenance Worker positions for the Facilities Services – Landscape Shop at Oregon State University. Requirements

• Academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
• Meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
• Meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
• Teamwork, strong communication skills, and ability to work independently.
• Able to work outdoors in all types of weather, stand for long periods of time, and able to lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must successfully complete a Motor Vehicle History Check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions (as per Voluntary and Compulsory Driver Standards OSU Standard 125-155-0200) as per OSU Standard 576-056-0000 et seq.

Nice To Haves

• Available to work up to 40 hours per week during Summer
• Experience in landscape maintenance is preferred.
• Previous work history outdoors including physical labor.

Responsibilities

• Perform landscape maintenance activities including: Pruning, weeding, mulching, mowing, planting, pavement cleaning, leaf removal, litter removal, manual watering, and snow/ice removal.
• Operate power equipment such as mowers, weed-eaters, edgers, and backpack blowers.
