About The Position

This summer internship provides a rotational experience across Hartford Funds’ Operations, Risk, IT, and Fund Treasury departments. Interns gain exposure to transfer agent and fund oversight, risk frameworks, and technology infrastructure while contributing to projects that support business operations and investor outcomes. The role includes cross-functional collaboration, data analysis, process improvement, project participation, and opportunities to present findings and recommendations. Interns also take part in learning and development sessions and receive mentorship from professionals across departments.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program, ideally focused on Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Interest in learning how different departments collaborate to support operations and investor outcomes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to different team environments.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with data tools such as Excel and Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Lead or contribute to functional and cross-functional initiatives across Operations, Risk, IT, and Fund Treasury.
• Collaborate with team members to identify and implement process improvements, including workflow automation and process updates.
• Support data-driven initiatives through analysis related to risk assessments, transfer agent activities, fund accounting, and IT operations.
• Participate in team meetings, project planning sessions, and status updates.
• Shadow team members to learn processes, systems, and tools across departments.
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders clearly and professionally as part of team efforts.
• Engage in intern learning sessions and other development opportunities.
